Evidence can be found in the works selected for the exhibition Greenwashing, which at the end of February brings to a close an entire year dedicated to the environment at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin. The artists involved don’t provide us with solutions, but rather their own individual views on the ‘environment question’. Their works stimulate discussion, analyze, criticize, and pose new questions. From the USA to China, by way of Europe, a single voice can be heard: ‘greenwashing’! A choral message for an increasingly ‘eco’ world.

The Bologna Museum of Modern Art (MAMbo) is proud to present the very first Italian exhibition of American artists Guyton/Walker. Wade Guyton and Kelley Walker make a rather odd couple. Both are still in their thirties, and each has their very own strong, precise language and style, but these individual artistic sensitivities merge in a single entity to create a ‘third artist’: Guyton/Walker, reinterpreting and recycling images drawn from the media.
References from the 1980s, put together using a blend of computerised graphics, silkscreen and digital printing. So what have they come up with for MAMbo? A maxi format installation.

Two major Brazilian museums have already hosted part of the itinerant show dedicated to the work of Cesare Berlinghieri, but the exhibition by Aguinaldo Coelho and Celso Fioravante has moved on, and a few days ago began its third and last stage at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio. There are 52 works on display, covering 40 years in the career of Cesare Berlingeri, and revealing several distinctive elements such as the use of monochrome, the relationship between painting and sculpture, memory, eroticism, and sacredness.

A new solo presentation of the work of Roman Signer at the Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh, this exhibition is every bit as original and unorthodox as the rest of Signer’s work, which since 1987, with Documenta 8 in Kassel, and through to his various appearances at the Venice ‘Biennale’, has never failed to amaze. Mixed-media, films, sculptures and installations are the features of this latest ‘incursion’ into the art scene. What drives his work? Once again, the answer is time, the way in which it is perceived, and the impression it leaves behind. What are the tools of his trade? The absurd, various experiments with the concept of the absurd using objects that are completely useless, but remind us of the importance of continuing to be amazed.

The Special Exhibitions Gallery on the third floor of New York’s MoMa is currently running an unusual and rather particular exhibition, a journey through the etchings of one of the most introspective and original of modern figurative artists: Lucian Freud.
The exhibition consists of a selection of works, brought together in a cross-media installation, ranging from the 1940s to the early 1980s, in a swirl of psychological tension and impeccable technique. A hidden side of Lucian Freud, now revealed in all its subtle and profound introspection. Is this a show only for connoisseurs? Absolutely not. It is simply another chance to get to know one of the foremost figures of modern art.

This retrospective is dedicated to Richard Rogers, one of the creators of the ‘Beaubourg machine’, the last event held to commemorate the center’s thirtieth anniversary.
A collaboration between Olivier Cinqualbre and Rogers himself, the exhibition emphasises the importance of open, themed spaces, and takes the visitor on a journey based on key words associated with the architect’s output.
