Alfa Romeo is showing its emotion at the 21st Gumball 3000

Ready, set, go! The Gumball 3000 started from Mykonos today and will criss-cross through Europe, ending in Ibiza on the 15th June. Every year, the non-competitive event attracts celebrities from all over the world to support the event’s charitable causes.

 

Amongst the over +100 supercars, prototypes and one-offs that will take part at the 3,000-mile race, the 21st edition of the Gumball 3000 also features a specially prepared Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio SUV.

 

The competing Stelvio Quadrifoglio, which was produced in association with Carrera, was designed in the Alfa Romeo Design Centre. Keeping with the brands’ luxury sports image, the designers chose to include touches of colour and eye-catching features to make it stand out in a crowded field.

 

For example, the Volcano Black bodywork is ornamented with a grey cloverleaf motif that reproduces the iconic logo across the entire surface. The underlying pattern is adorned with fluorescent green decorations, which portray the most distinctive Alfa Romeo iconography. These include a large snake on the side panels, classic Alfa Romeo lettering on the rear window, and the brand logo, which occupies the whole roof.

 

The same colour pattern resonates throughout the whole car, including its 20" alloy wheels and its logo, which stands out on the black brake callipers, which are aided by the burnished rear light clusters. The result is an Alfa Romeo Stelvio that will thrill spectators on every part of this eleven-country journey. Well, that, and the unmistakable Quadrifoglio sound generated by the 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo with its massive 510 HP.
