Headlights
The bold Full-LED Adaptive Matrix 3+3 headlights provide always the best lighting conditions, thanks to the Adaptive Front Lighting System, which constantly adjusts the dipped beam headlights based on speed and driving conditions, and the Glare-Free High Beam Segmented Technology, which automatically detects both directions of traffic to avoid blinding other drivers.

Cannocchiale cluster
Fully customisable 12.3” “Cannocchiale” cluster with three layouts: Evolved, Relax, and Heritage. Tonale Ibrida VGT 175 HP
The 175-HP Ibrida features a 1.5-litre petrol engine equipped with a Variable-Geometry Turbo (VGT) and paired with a 7-speed TCT dual-clutch transmission. Its innovative 48-Volt hybrid system, powered by a 15-kW, 55-Nm electric motor, is both lightweight and efficient. This setup allows for a true hybrid experience, enabling full-electric driving at low speeds, during maneuvers, and while coasting. The powertrain delivers the performance of a powerful petrol engine while maintaining fuel consumption comparable to a diesel, offering extremely linear power delivery and impressive acceleration.
Tonale Plug-in Ibrida Q4 270 HP
The most powerful model in the lineup is the exclusive 270-HP Plug-in Ibrida Q4, featuring Alfa Romeo’s all-wheel-drive system for enhanced control, sportiness, and driving pleasure. Its advanced hybrid powertrain combines a 1.3-litre MultiAir turbo petrol engine, which drives the front wheels, with an electric motor powering the rear wheels. Equipped with a 15.5-kWh battery, the system delivers a total output of 270 HP, allowing the new Tonale to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.6 seconds, with immediate and powerful torque response. The Ibrida Plug-in is also highly efficient, offering up to 38 miles of all-electric range under the WLTP combined cycle.
Driving Dynamics
Best-in-class steering and iconic aluminium paddle shifters
Natural and instinctive, precise and direct, the Alfa Romeo Tonale leads the C-SUV with a steering ratio of 13.6. Combined with advanced front and rear suspension systems, it redefines how an SUV should feel on the road. The Tonale also features another distinctive and iconic Alfa Romeo trait: all-aluminium, mono-block, steering column-mounted paddle shifters, which offer a responsive and exciting alternative to any drive or journey.
Perfect weight distribution
The balance of weight between the two axles provides a new level of driving pleasure. Tonale models equipped with two-wheel drive use an excellent balance of masses to optimise torque delivery on the ground and handling on corners. The latter is further emphasised in the Q4 all-wheel-drive version, capable of delivering torque to both front and rear axles.
Brake-by-wire technology and Brembo calipers
The Alfa Romeo Tonale is the only model in its segment to be equipped with the cutting-edge brake-by-wire system, known as IBS (Integrated Braking System). Innovation and performance, mechanics and electronics, all come together to provide great brake responsiveness on the road and a perfect and consistent brake pedal feeling. This system allows you to maximise energy regeneration with reduced vibration and shortened stopping distances. Overall braking performance on the Veloce and Sport Speciale versions is enhanced by the adoption of fixed calipers by Brembo, with four pistons at the front.
Dual Stage Valve Electronic Suspension
The Tonale features cutting-edge intelligent suspension systems. Standard on the Veloce, the Dual Stage Valve (DSV) system adapts to road conditions and driving behavior in milliseconds. Comfort and Sport modes allow the advanced valves and pistons to work independently, fine-tuning the shock absorbers to deliver a ride that remains perfectly in sync with the road.
Alfa Romeo electronic self-locking differential
The front-wheel-drive versions of Tonale, come standard with the Alfa Romeo electronic self-locking differential to guarantee great traction for a smooth and precise driving experience, emphasising the agility and sporty character of this car. Built into the DNA selector and combined with the McPherson front suspension, this system offers sporty and effective driving dynamics by controlling the vehicle's stability and by redirecting the power to the wheels when accelerating on corners. It also provides optimal control on slippery surfaces and helps reduce understeer, transferring the torque from the inner to the outer wheel in order to ensure longitudinal acceleration and maximum traction.

DNA
The DNA Drive Mode Selector is designed to optimise both efficiency and performance across a range of driving conditions. DYNAMIC mode is tailor-made for exhilarating sports driving, delivering enhanced power and sharper steering response for maximum agility and control. NATURAL mode strikes a harmonious balance between performance and comfort, making it ideal for everyday driving. In hybrid versions, the electric motor and steering response are optimised to deliver a smoother daily drive. ADVANCED EFFICIENCY mode maximises energy efficiency and electric range for the ultimate comfort. In “A” Mode, the Tonale Plug-in Ibrida Q4 runs entirely on electric power.
NFT digital certificate
The Tonale is the first vehicle on the market to be endowed with a Non-Fungible Token digital certificate. Based on blockchain technology, the NFT can register vehicle data and through that, generates a unique, confidential, and non-falsifiable record of the vehicle’s life. This record indicates that the car has been properly maintained and it can have a positive impact on the residual value of your Tonale in case of reselling. ADAS
Level 2 Assisted Driving
The Alfa Romeo Tonale features advanced Level 2 Assisted Driving thanks to a front-mounted camera to monitor the vehicle's surroundings, laterally and longitudinally in combination with three other systems: Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, and Traffic Jam Assist*. These three systems interact to maintain the correct position on the road with minimal driver intervention. These features assist in keeping the vehicle at the correct speed, in the centre of its lane, reducing the possibility of collisions, while checking the vehicle’s surroundings in congested traffic where accidents often occur.

Blind Spot and Rear Cross Path Detection
This system monitors the driver's blind spots while driving, providing a visual warning on the corresponding exterior mirror when another vehicle is detected in the blind spot. Rear Cross Path Detection is activated when the Alfa Romeo Tonale is in reverse, assisting with backing out of parking spaces and other situations with limited visibility. Additionally, it alerts the driver to approaching vehicles from the sides.
360° Surround Camera with drone-like view
The 360° Surround View Camera offers an all-round view of the car’s surroundings displayed on the 10.25” digital touchscreen with dynamic gridlines. This system features four high-definition cameras positioned on the front grille, exterior mirrors, and liftgate for easier parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces.
Lane Centering system
Lane Centering system controls the sideways movement of your new Tonale to help you keep the vehicle in the centre of the lane, even in heavy traffic conditions.
Semi-automatic Parking Assist
The parking system automates parking functions: it identifies suitably sized parking spaces and steers the vehicle during the parking process, while the driver manages vehicle speed using throttle and brake control. The system works both on parallel and perpendicular parking maneuvers, as well as assists the driver in exiting the parking space.
Intelligent Speed Assist
The Traffic Sign Recognition system uses the onboard camera to identify traffic signs, reporting them on the display to inform the driver of the current speed limit. When paired with Adaptive Cruise Control, the Intelligent Speed Assist suggests reducing the speed to the detected limit. If the driver accepts, the speed control settings are automatically adjusted.
Autonomous Emergency Brake
The Tonale uses its front-mounted camera to visually and audibly warn the driver of a stopped vehicle, pedestrians, or cyclists ahead. If the driver is unable to stop in time, the system autonomously brakes the vehicle to help avoid or mitigate a collision.
Drowsy Driver Detection
The Drowsy Driver Detection system detects the initial signs of fatigue by monitoring steering movements and the driver's interactions to detect possible tiredness. If detected, the system emits beeps and shows visual warnings, advising the driver to take a break.
