When you brake, the first thing to be involved is the pedal. The whole process starts with the pressure you apply with your foot. Depending on your actions, you can lower the moving speed, keep it steady when you are descending, or stop completely.

Your brake pedal works by closing the callipers to press the disc pads and widening the shoes to push them against the drums. This system is fitted on all four wheels. In order to offer comfort and safety, our pedals are made with maximum respect for ergonomic standards.

In all cars equipped with a hydraulic braking system, the brake pump works to ensure you the right braking at the right time. Technically called the master cylinder, this component can convert applied physical pressure on the brake pedal into hydraulic pressure. 

When you press on the pedal, the power brake increases the energy used so much that the force produced is approximately 100 times greater than the one you made.

Disc brakes are made of two basic components: pads and discs. An essential duo, tested on every vehicle, for optimum response in regular and emergency braking. 

The first, positioned within a caliper system, consist of the disc while you brake, creating the friction you need to slow down or stop the car.
The second, 100% checked and balanced with the utmost precision, improve braking distances and guarantee safety and reliability over time.

The heart of the drum brake consists of a rotating cylinder, the drum, and of one or more strips made from friction material called shoes. 

The brake holder plate has one or two hydraulic cylinders equipped with pistons. When braking, the brake pump pushes the hydraulic fluid towards the cylinders, moving the pistons that push the shoes against the drum surface, thus causing deceleration and wheel stoppage.

The flexible hoses that connect the brake pump with the calipers or drums send the hydraulic pressure to pads or shoes, letting you slow down or stop your car. Subject to strong dynamic requests, they ensure that your braking system works properly even in extreme conditions because they can resist bending and lengthening, oil, fuel, other environmental influences and strong thermal changes. 

A loss of effectiveness and brake fluid can happen when these hoses are worn, and it is because of the stress they are subject to, we would like to remind you to have them inspected regularly, at least every 2 years. A brake hose that is too old can require a dangerously higher braking distance to that needed to avoid collisions.

In order to protect your braking system’s components, brake fluid plays a fundamental role because the brake’s operation itself depends on this element.
So checking its status regularly is vitally important. 

The brake fluid in fact has to resist boiling so steam bubbles don’t form in the system. It has to have an exact viscosity index so the system functions even at low temperatures, it has to be capable of absorbing humidity that enters into the braking system and it has to lubricate to keep rust from forming in the system.
