SERVICING TIPS

Drive your car on safe servicing roads

oil
SPEAKING OF ENGINE OIL

  1. Before checking the oil, make sure you have parked your car on a level surface
  2. Turn off the engine, wait 5 minutes and, minding the heat, check the oil inside the engine.
  3. Do not add oil with features that are different from those already in the engine
  4. See a Alfa Romeo Retailer for replacement and the correct disposal methods

battery
SPEAKING OF THE BATTERY

  1. Always be very careful: battery liquid is corrosive and poisonous, so do not let it come in contact with your skin
  2. Remember: if the liquid level in your car is too low, it can damage the battery
  3. If your car has to remain unused for a long period, remove the battery and keep it in a closed, warm place
  4. If the battery freezes, do not try to recharge it. Check that all the internal components are intact and there are no cracks: they could cause the inner liquid to leak out
  5. Your Alfa Romeo Dealership is the best place to replace and dispose of your car battery with respect to the environment
  6. You can prolong your battery’s life with little tricks: make sure the doors and bonnet are firmly closed when you park and all the lights are off. Also remember not to leave the radio and/or emergency lights on for a long time when the engine is off.

wipers
SPEAKING OF FRONT AND REAR WINDOW WIPERS

  1. To maintain your wipers performance, keep the rubber part of the wipers clean and replace it at least once a year or when worn out/damaged.
  2. In low temperatures, make sure ice is not blocking the rubber part of the wipers on the glass as the cold can cause damage to your blades. Remove any built-up snow on the window itself without using the wipers when the surface is dry
  3. Check that there is always fluid in the sprayer tank and the holes are not blocked

tyres
SPEAKING OF WHEELS AND TYRES

It is important to regularly check your tyre pressure, including the spare tyre. We advise periodic checking of about every two weeks and always prior to long trips.

Remember that you car’s road grip depends on the tyre pressure: if it is too low, it can make the tyres overheat and consequently damage them.

bodywork
SPEAKING OF THE BODY

  1. In case of scratches or lines in your car’s body, immediately see to retouch them to prevent rust from forming.
  2. If you drive often on roads where anti-ice salt has been spread or in heavily polluted areas, wash your car frequently to try to maintain the body as best as you can.
  3. Always keep your car in perfect shape; check that there are no puddles under the mats, remove dust from the fabric with a damp brush or use a vacuum cleaner. Also, clean the seats with a sponge soaked in water and a neutral detergent.
